Scraping Board and Castanet Rhythm Set

Explore rhythm through two hands-on ways to make sound. This percussion set combines a scraping board with castanet components, inviting children to scrape, tap, and listen to the differences between the sounds they create.

Switch between scraping and tapping to explore varied sound patterns. Simple rhythm play offers opportunities to practise hand coordination, recognise different sounds, and develop a sense of timing through active discovery.

Use the pieces for basic rhythm exploration and sound recognition activities. Try a short pattern, repeat it, then change the order of the sounds. Moving between the two playing methods gives children a practical way to compare sounds and explore how their hand movements shape each rhythm.
